The Story Of Fumiko Chapter 2: Our First Day Out

It was dawn when I was rudely awakened by a strange sound. I'd sat up quickly wondering what the sound was. Looking around, I couldn't see anything, then I'd heard it again. I slowly reached into my drawer blindly searching for my dagger that I kept near-by just in case. Then I'd turned to my dragon to see if she was all right. While I was looking at her, I'd heard the sound again, realizing how silly I was, I'd finally figured out what it was. It was the sound of Fumiko's Tummy! She was hungry! I laughed softly and closed my drawer releasing my dagger, I'd then got up and began to make something for her and myself to eat. Then as I was doing so, I'd realized one thing.... WHAT ON EARTH DO I FEED HER!? I had gone into my library to see if I'd had any books on what to feed dragons, I searched frantically wondering if I'd ever find that book. I'd finally found the book that I was searching for. Upon reading it, I'd discovered that she needed liquid dear meat and some vegetables to help her grow big and strong. While she slept I went out into the woods and shot 4 deer, and picked a bunch of vegetables. I began to prepare the food and waited for my sweet little Fumiko to awaken. Slowly she stirred from her slumber and seen me with a giant bowl of food for her, with a delighted squeal she began to devour the food. I smiled and went to make my meal. After doing so, I ate it, then washed the dishes, dried them and put them away then I washed my face. "Come on Fumiko! It's time to go out!" I stated to her as I'd opened the door. Fumiko looked at me curiously. Realizing that she'd never been out, I'd went over to her and told her that everything would be all right and that I wouldn't leave her side. She purred softly and nodded her head. We'd left our cozy little home and went out into the forest to enjoy the sun which had finally rose in the beautiful morning sky. Fumiko, being new to the world, just took everything in at once, I could tell that she was excited because her eyes began to glimmer with anticipation. Smiling widely, I lead her to a wide open meadow to play in. We rolled down the small hill, picked flowers, and I'd made her a little daisy crown and matching collar to make her look beautiful. Not that she really needed it mind you, because she was already beautiful to me. I really loved Fumiko like as if she was my own child, I wanted to spoil her with anything and everything that her heart desired. Fumiko shook the Daisy Crown and Collar off of her body after a while. I looked over at her inquisitively, "Hmm? What's wrong Fumiko? Don't you like your little crown and collar that I'd made you?" she looked back at me and shook her head no. It was then I realized that she was a dragon of simple pleasures, all she really needed was food, water, shelter and love. And I'd already provided that for her, I chuckled softly and smiled back at her. "Well then, if it isn't things that you desire and just me being there for you. Then that's the way it shall be then won't it?" Fumiko darted over to me, and started licking my face like a puppy. I laughed and hugged her, she purred softly at me and that had let me know that she would only allow me to be by her side.
